By Patrick Malone

"A Celebration of Creation" is a beautiful documentary film that captures the wonder and spectacle of the world's largest Animal Blessing. If you have a fondness for animals you will love this film.

You may be surprised to learn that world's largest Gothic cathedral is in the city of New York. The Cathedral of Saint John the Divine is also home to the largest Animal Blessing in the world. Every Feast of St. Francis the Cathedral attracts several thousand people who are accompanied by over a thousand their best animal friends. They flock to the Cathedral from across North America and from places such as England and France for this magnificent Animal Blessing. Pet blessings are helpful especially to old or ill creatures.

With the Cathedral filled with humans and their pets the mood is serene yet festive. One of the most stunning aspects of this celebration is the Procession of Animals where an array of animals enter through the massive bronze doors. Camels, eagles, cows, horses, llamas, tortoises, Madagascar hissing cockroaches and many more parade along the two football fields long aisle to the altar for their blessing.

"A Celebration of Creation" DVD tells the touching stories of the participants, such as the Turtle Lady who has saved the lives of hundreds of turtles and tortoises and rehabilitated them right in her Manhattan apartment!

"A Celebration of Creation" will take you to very special school where animals are used in therapy to help children with serious learning and social problems. They train and care for a variety of animals and 2 lucky children are selected to attend the Cathedral and partake in the Procession of the Animals.

The film takes you to The Raptor Project in the Catskill Mountains. Here, world famous Master Falconer Jonathan Wood rehabilitates and trains eagles, owls, falcons and hawks, one of which will be chosen to lead the Procession of Animals.

Then there is the talented pot bellied pig known as Cornelius. He lives in a nice house with his very own bedroom. His talents include playing basketball and playing the drums. And every year he attends the Animal Blessing.

Renown saxophonist Paul Winter composed the music for the Earth Mass which is the cornerstone of the Animal Blessing. This hauntingly gorgeous music is performed live by the Paul Winter Consort. A choir of one hundred voices and the sounds of wolves and whales accompany The Consort.

"A Celebration of Creation" is a beautiful film that will make you cry and laugh. It is a must see for animal lovers!
